The old and formal post office at the Groenplaats in Antwerpen is being renovated to create opportunities for living, catering industry, boutiques, shopping- and other commercial activities. Hein Heun has been assigned, by one of our contractors, to precise strip and disassemble the building. On the ground floor, where earlier the counters of the old post office where stated, places are created for the catering industry, shopping industry and other commercial activities. Where the gates are at the Lombardenvest, place is been made for boutiques. Above that location, luxury apartments are created.

It was a nice challenge to dismantle the part that is going to be an future store location. It was important that the nostalgia, such as the glass ceiling from the Renaissance style, was maintained. Building elements that had been installed in recent years were removed to return the building to its original state. In addition, our team was part of a (re)construction process and we focused on good cooperation with all parties involved. This means that all work to be performed must be coordinated between the parties involved, so that everyone can perform his or her work properly.

This demolition was carried out very carefully with the help of bobcats, mini cranes and a very strong team. Ultimately, a good result was achieved that our client was extremely satisfied with.
