Asphalt milling on a highway bridge near Ravenstein (NL)

Bridges and viaducts, also known as infrastructural works of art, are subject to maintenance, just like buildings. This also applies to the asphalt construction that is applied to it. There is a viaduct over the Maas in the highway near Ravenstein. The asphalt on this viaduct will be replaced as part of a major road maintenance project. The asphalt on this bridge has to be removed over an area of ​​more than 5600 m². In order to carry out this work safely, the carriageway in the direction of Nijmegen from the Ewijk to Oss junction has been completely closed.

The civil demolition infrastructure team of Hein Heun Group with their large equipment has, together with one of our partners, removed the asphalt from the bridge. With the use of several cranes and other equipment such as a bobcat, the asphalt has been completely removed from the civil construction. After the asphalt milling, the bridge deck was delivered clean. The work has produced spectacular images.
