Due severe weather conditions, a jack-up barge for (dis)assembly of wind turbines, capsized off the coast of Denmark. When capsizing the pontoon collapsed into the sea and has been pressed into the sand of the seabed up to 9 meters deep. Due these circumstances it wasn’t possible to move the pontoon.
To prevent the leakage of liquids, all fuel and oil were first removed from the object by a certified company. TD&R (part of the Hein Heun Group) was subsequently engaged as an expert to demolish the pontoon. The working barge was 55.5 meters long and 32.2 meters wide with four posts of 2.5 meters in diameter. It was built in 2008 and could ship an total weight of 1815t. The released metal has been scraped and delivered to an approved processor for reuse.
With our unique equipment, we are able to remove pontoons, ships and other objects on site, both above and below water and on- and offshore. We offer an total package of solutions to safely dismantle the object and dispose of all materials. Our many years of experience with on- and offshore work and with specialist (nautical) demolition work states that we are able to amovate even the most complex objects (circularly).
