For one of our clients, we were able to make a cut of 1200 mm by 1800 mm in the shard walls of 2 transformer pits.

Because the cut-out at the corners should not be sawed, we started by drilling 5 round holes of 100 mm at each corner. This is done with diamond tools. When the holes have been drilled we start hanging the wall saw. Because the walls are 300 mm thick, it is chosen here to cut with a blade of 800 mm, which comes to a depth of 330 mm. When all sides have been cut, we drill 2 special so-called clicks into the concrete to be removed, 2 lifting eyes will be inserted into this and then lifted out of the block with a 5-ton crane. Afterwards, all walls are neatly sprayed with a high-pressure sprayer and the drilling water is sucked up.

In this same area we have also been assigned to remove a concrete plate of 6000 mm by 4000 mm with a thickness of 300 mm. With the help of a 5-ton crane with a attached hammer, this plate is cut into pieces, then these pieces are deposited in a container with a sorting bucket. When the plate has been completely removed, we rake the sand bed with a rub rake to remove the last pieces of debris.
