Specialized demolition of an 85,000 m² industrial estate in Germany

TD&R, part of the Hein Heun Group, recently provided support for one of our partners in the demolition of an industrial site in an area of 85.00m².

Our specialist excavator, the Liebherr 994, is the heaviest of all 28(!) excavators on location. “We call him Obelix” says one employee.  “These scissors cut steel like a toothpick” says another. With his ‘teeth’, giant steel scissors (38 tons LaBounty MSD500) he cuts the meters thick steel beams effortlessly. This excavator, which we use for large specialist demolition works, has 1200hp and weighs no less than 280 tons.

Approximately 100 employees and 28 cranes were working at this location to continuously streamline the removal of all steel and residual waste from the construction site. 2500 tons of steel and residual waste are removed from the site every day.
