Demolition spinning factory Mainleus (DE)

The spinning mill factory of Mainleus (1863) is history. The Mainleus location was expanded vrom 1907 to 1920 and activities took place untill 2013. Hein Heun has dismantled various buildings. On the 60.000 m² build-up site the water house and multiple wooden buildings were dismantled and demolished first. The circular demolition activities were in accordance with the Recycle-Reduce-Reuse protocol and closely followed by the municipality, which paid a weekly visit to the site and issued clear instructions to sort out all waste or materials released by type.

Dispite the short start-up, mini cranes and bobcats with the accompanying tools have done a great job. The approach to dismantling and demolition is described by the municipality as a very well thought-out approach and an example of contemporary demolition. The buildings that are maintained; the weaving mill, the dust tower, the boiler house and the consumer building, are seen as a monument. These buildings correspond to 1/3 of the total area to be demolished.
