Fire Havenstraat in Vroomshoop

On may 5th, around 15:00 hour, a major fire started at a furniture storage company in a multi-company building in the Havenstraat in Vroomshoop. For the fire service it was very difficult, even with a ladder truck, to control the fire. The smoke was visible far and wide in the area and at least 100 firefighters help to control and stop the fire. Because the area that was on fire was part of a much larger continuous industrial complex, it is necessary to stop the fire from spreading as soon as possible. The area is very difficult to reach and Hein Heun immediately offered support. We have deployed two of our cranes, fully equipped to fight fire sources up close with an air filter installation and an overpressure cabin so that the safety of the crane operators is guaranteed at all times.

Partly due to the use of the aforementioned cranes, the burning and smoldering material was disassembled in order to make the extinguishing process as smooth and as fast as possible. In this way the firefighters could extinguish the burning material.

Due to a coordinated effort between the fire fighters and the equipment of Hein Heun, the signal “fire controlled” was released after a few hours.
