Pile Breaking Borne

In september (2019) an number of foundation piles are adjusted in Borne by means of manual pile breaking. The piles had a diameter of 30-50 cm. Hein Heun Sloopwerken B.V. has removed approximately one meter from the top of the concrete piles to expose the reinforcement of these piles for the next phase of the construction work.

Pile breaking is the operation in which, after driving in concrete piles, by removing concrete at the top of the pile, the reinforcement (the steel reinforcing bars) is exposed. These rods are interwoven with the reinforcement rods of the construction to be made in a subsequent working run, so that after completion it forms one whole with the piles.
