For one of our clients we have been assigned to make a recess in the concrete floor of 6000 mm by 3000 mm for the installation of a large scissor bridge that is placed deepened in the floor.
The difficulty with this project was that there was a 600 mm thick concrete pimple in the center of the floor. Because the corners should not be cut, we have started drilling out the corners, we perform this with diamond drills of around 100, 5 holes are drilled at each corner.
First, a calculation was made about the weight of the floor. As a result of this calculation, it was decided to remove the floor in strips of 72 cm across the entire width so that the pieces are easier to handle. Also on this saw cut, 3 holes of around 100 must be drilled on both sides. In addition, 2 extra holes are drilled in each block for lifting the blocks. In the long lengths, the floor is 300 mm thick, because this thickness can be achieved with a floor saw, we have chosen to cut half of the floor with this saw, we first grab half so that the floor is still at several points stuck. The entire floor is supported with stamps from start to finish.
Once half the length of the cut has been sawed with the floor saw, we will set up the wall saw for sawing the width of the cut. This is done very carefully to load the material as little as possible, for example, we start with an 800 mm blade and gradually change to 1000 mm, then 1200 mm and finally 1500 mm. When the entire cut has been made, the 720 mm by 3600 mm block is loose on the supporting stamps. Then we pull a chain through the pre-drilled holes to lift the blocks.
By this way we work block by block towards the end of the hall until a large saving of 6000 mm by 3600 mm is created. When all blocks have been removed, we pump out the underlying space and clean it completely.
