At the end of February (2020), a gigantic wholesale market in the north of Frankfurt closed after decades. The site, with an area of over 40.000 m², was taken over on April 1st, and the building had to be removed. Therefore it was a challenge for us, as the Hein Heun Group, to completely dismantle and demolish this object for one of our partners. The first four weeks we were busy by means of preparing the building, the last of which was the was the special removal of the entire roof of over 15.000 m².
After the building was fully released, we started demolishing this colossal structure. With the use of specialistic equipment and various excavators ranging from 50 tons to almost 200 tons, we have now moved on for 9 weeks and the area of over 40.000 m² has been demolished. The 50 meter high tower has also been skilfully brought down. The site has now been delivered to the client, ready for construction.
